'The photo was taken only weeks after the war ended outside our Sqdn HQ, which was in the Amtsgericht in the village of NEUHAUS AN DER OSTE. We ended the war effectively in BREMERHAVEN, but the following day we moved to a lttle town called BEDERKESA. We were there a short time and then moved to NEUHAUS'.

'Parkmacduff' writes: 'I was taken aback when I looked at this photo, there on the front row, 1st on the left is my dad, Sgt John (Jack) Roundhill. I believe he was a tank driver. His pals from his army days, who I was lucky enough to meet were George Mawbey (known as GBM - for George Bloody Mawbey!), he lived at Mappleton near Ashbourne for many years and worked for Col Sir Ian Walker-Oakover at Oakover Hall (if my memory serves me right), also Stan Lee from Ashbourne, Jack Hodson who emigrated to Australia and Phil Clarke who lived in Huddersfield for many years and then retired to a remote Scottish island. Sadly they have all passed away but they had many happy hours together often at my family home in Leeds. I don't know if they are on any of the photos. My dad used to go to army reunions with George Mawbey right up to just before dad's death in 1984 and he regularly kept in touch with such people as Col Noel Wall'.
